The inspiration behind... 'Light Fantastic'

Radish Muses

Radish Muses

I first started working on this collection last spring, and as with all collections, it all started with my scrapbooks, print archives and vintage favourites. Followed by a lot of sketching and daydreaming on trains to my favourite songs.

A lot of the RADISH world to me is bathed in Californian sun rays, but this time I was being drawn to the Riveria and the golden girl attendees of the Cannes Film Festival in the 50s, 60s and 70s.  I got lost in a wonderful wormhole of all the pictures of the attendees: Sharon Tate, Sophia Loren, Jane Birkin, Brigette Bardot, Donyale Luna, Jane Birkin, Françoise Hardy, Romy Schneider etc… all with the RADISH spirit.

What began to emerge was this 7 piece capsule collection. Playful ruffles, whether on a pockets and hems (like on Pearl our first skirt) or tired like the skirt of Gilda. Bold polka dots and lots of shimmer, something I always dreamed of, especially with our favourite Gracie

The name of the collection coming from the song 'Trip the Light Fantastic’ - as with any RADISH dress, I always picture them moving and dancing! They truly come to life in the sunlight and with music.

I’ll be pairing the polka dots like Marianne with vintage suede, donning real flowers as accessories like Donayle and doing a shimmery spring like Brigitte B. I hope these will be your future wardrobe favourites. This collection is very limited edition so you really are getting a special one.

See Layla, Pearl, Gilda, Romy, Lucas and Harlow in our look book here and exclusively in our shop here.
